THE ARTIST

EDUCATION
I dedicate my time to giving visual expression to my experiences in this wild journey called life. I discovered my love for art at the age of four during a family road trip, where I became fascinated with capturing the world around me on paper. Despite drifting away from art during my high school years to focus on academics, art found its way back to me when I needed it most – during a time when I struggled with my mental health. Art became my refuge, a means of expressing emotions I couldn’t articulate in any other way.
I realised that my true calling was in creative expression. I made the bold decision to pursue a career as an artist. My work is deeply personal, drawing on my own life experiences, particularly my battles with depression, an eating disorder, and OCD. These struggles shape the narratives I explore in my art, which I view as both a reflection of my own psyche and an invitation for viewers to explore their own inner discourses.
Though I am only at the beginning of my professional career, I am eager to make my mark in the art world. I aspire to hold my own exhibitions and to be recognised as a distinctive voice in the South African contemporary art scene.
